More about me

I have always been very interested in stories and I love to read as long as I can remember. I traveled through different places, ages and cultures without having to leave the place, until I immersed myself in the most immersive narrative media: the games. I didn't abandon my beloved books, but now that my horizons were bigger, I would like to imagine what mechanics would be like with a specific theme, how the world would be represented and where the player's decision points would be.

One of the first games that sparked my interest for creation was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (PC) which brought a very unique progression and immersion, differentiating itself from the book and the movie. That interactive look at elements that were not seen in the movie was reimagined by the developers and you could really immerse yourself.

Upon finishing school, I started studying Languages (Portuguese - Literature) at college (UFRJ) and started taking a game development course. Making sure it was what I wanted, I moved on to Digital Games College, where I completed my studies focused on Game Design.

From the first contact, you start to imagine how the ordinary things of everyday life could work in a more practical and fun way through games. When developing children's games you can see very closely how a small exercise to stimulate motor skills, transformed into a game, is able to amuse children while they develop new skills.

I had a wonderful surprise when I got to know Virtual Reality and all the planning behind it. It was a very good experience to be able to develop the MUSEHUM project and take museum visitors on a time travel ride. And, later, curating Virtual Reality content for the Goethe Institut took me on another journey between amazing interactive experiences not only in Brazil, but also to the beautiful Cologne Cathedral, in Germany.

I recently started working with UX Design on games and websites and the journey behind the scenes of development has gone even deeper. Studying the motivations, habits and customs of users and players makes me understand even more how to build a good experience.
