My Boo 2

I worked on updates of the live game My Boo 2, which is the 3D sequel to the game My Boo which is also a Virtual Pet Game. This is a game aimed at children, but has many casual minigames that appeal to everyone, not just children.

Development

In my first week at Tapps Games, my task was to recreate the tutorial because the FTUE completion rate was very low. Only 60% of players finished the tutorial. After analyzing the analytics and the players' points of friction, I proposed changes and implemented them in Unity (using the previously created tutorial tool) to reduce the time of teaching the player to play and release him as early as possible to play and have fun by following the My Talking Angela benchmark.

My Talking Angela only took 10 seconds to release the first player input, so the initial cutscene time, the opening of Boo's egg and some initial dialogues were simplified while still maintaining their importance, but taking up less time. Other modifications were made to the flows of buying food and soap, feeding, bathing, sleeping and minigames. In the end, the tutorial time decreased by 39s, the FTUE completion rate reached 76% and it was possible to look at other game improvements.
