Manchester City Game

I worked on the game from its conceptualization in two versions, Premium and F2P, through benchmark analysis, feature design, and balancing, all the way to its release. It's a management game for a Freestyle Football Academy where the player must invest in equipment, hire and train players for performances to gain fame and resources. It's a casual action and resource management game.

Development

Hermit Crab Game Studio had already validated the freestyle mechanics (quick time events for performing ball tricks) in previous titles ("PSG Soccer Freestyle" and "Arsenal Freestyle Show"), and the client's guideline was that they wanted a management game. In order to combine the action mechanics with management, we started analyzing references (such as Idle Gym Tycoon, in the image below) and defined the game's core loop: train > play > upgrade equipment.

For prototyping the game flow and the layout of elements on the screens, I used Figma and performed many tests before the development team took it to Unity. The game was planned in its complete version and then we did a versioning to gradually release it on Google Play.
